Perhaps it's just my lack of technical knowledge where snooker's concerned, but Thorne seems to understand which shots are going to be played, how and why - I don't get the same impression from some of the others, though Dennis seems to know what he's doing.

Could someone please write them a new moth joke though? the wallet line has been overused more than the phrase "naughty snooker"

I've always prefered the BBC commentary over EuroSport, Hendry dont say much but when he does you listen.
After 15 reds and 15 blacks i did this http://youtu.be/DupuczMS2o4

Snooker desperately needs a professional commentator - Ted Lowe has never been replaced.

It is all jobs for the boys and I think this kind of nepotism has a detrimental effect on snookers viewing figures.

Couldnt agree more, i do like hendry though, he doesnt feel the need to talk constantly saying meaningless crap like virgo does.
But when he does talk it is worth listening to.

Same here didnt think id like him commentating a yr ago but now i think hes spot on, doesnt over do the chat and knows every shot inside out. What puzzles me is the under use of neal foulds, absolutely criminal this is, no doubt though looks like there phasing out willie slowly but surely!

for sheer facts and figures, as with football's motty, snooker needs Clive Everton.

all agreed about SH and NF.
SD used to be great but he needs to stop following DT and JV with the verbal, less is more - they are not the best examples to follow.
I prefer Dave Hendon and even Phil Yates () on Europsort than those two.
                        Up the TSF! :snooker:

I can honestly say I can't think of a time when Steve Davis showed himself as a great commentator. Pundit yes, commentator im afraid not..
