By that time I might agree as well.

Looks like I finally put my money right .... Allen is no Maggie ... Allen can win scrappy n can score big too .. Shaun has no clue in safety ... his only chance is his potting n that does nto always work .. no wonder he has not won much ... come on Allen ... both were gifts from Smurf but one still has to put it away n Allen did just that very well

I think Murphy needs to be a little more patient.

when ROS was about to walk on he was looking at his tip and asked someone off screen for a file or sandpaper. I assume someone later handed him something and he treated his tip.

So it's first blood to Mark. Good first frame.

I really do like Mark's short punchy cue action.

The one thing I don't like is that he often looks at the white when he strikes the cue ball.

I'm a Ronnie fan, and while I agree that "we" tend to be fanatical, it's no different than a fave football team getting knocked out of a tournament. For a lot of ROS fans still watching, the idea of a Murphy/Allen vs Robbo final isn't too appealing, I'll still be watching though.

I'm an Aussie and hope Robertson goes on to win but do not believe he is in the same class as O'S who is absolute magic to watch.
That is your opinion but the facts and record books tell the real story. If the BBC keep telling you something it does not mean it's true.

Yes. Murphy has worked hard on all aspects of his game. He had a couple of weaknesses.

    1. Would often break down before he got over the winning line. He has no solved that by keeping tight control over the cue ball and more importantly keeping his focus.

    2. His safety game was a bit suspect. He's now improved that but it's still not quite their yet. He struggles to lay snookers. Other players like Maquire find that relatively easy.

But overall. A much improved player. Having one of the best cue actions in the business was a good foundation to build on.
